Background

IDEA develops, organizes and promotes debate and debate-related activities in communities throughout the world. Established in 1999 to coordinate pilot debate programs initiated by The Open Society Institute, IDEA acts as an independent membership organization of national debate clubs, associations, programs, and individuals who share a common purpose: to promote mutual understanding and democracy globally by supporting discussion and active citizenship locally.

Challenges:

The biggest challenge facing IDEA was rapid growth. Their web site had out grown many of it's original features and sections of the site were no longer accessible to members under a single user login.

•	Access to different tools and features on the web site required members to login multiple times with separate accounts.

•	Communication needed to be improved to accommodate a diverse international audience.

•	User Data and Content were managed across several independent databases and administration tools.

Results:

Cyber-NY integrated all of the debate tools into a single web site accessible to members through a universal login. All user data and site content was migrated into a single CRM system that could be managed from a secure administration section. Results and solutions provided by Cyber-NY included:

•	Constituent Relationship Management: Under the universal login, Cyber-NY created unique member profiles that tracked member levels, access permissions, debate scores, event participation and facilitated a higher level of communication between IDEA and its members.

•	Content Management: Cyber-NY integrated a content management system that provides IDEA with the ability to rapidly update content for virtually every part of the site thus improving communication throughfrequent and relevant updates.

•	Improved Search Capabilities: Cyber-NY integrated the Judges, Members, Debate Clubs, and Alumni directories under one convenient search tool called IDEAfinder. This tool allowed any debater to find any information all in one place.
