Laemmle Fans Have Something New To Celebrate.
The New Laemmle Virtual Cinema!
Laemmle, pronounced "LEM-lee", is synonymous with great independent, foreign, and art house cinema. In over 70 years of operation, they've been guided by a commitment to exhibit "quality film without regard to genre or provenance". And now the same great offerings fans have come to expect are available online.
Laemmle customers will now be able to rent movies online using Gift Cards and Premiere Cards, with special discount pricing for members. With one login, you'll be able to access all of your virtual cinema rentals in a single library, and even watch on your preferred device. This week's virtual lineup features a wide range of documentaries, about winemaking in the Middle East, art collector Agnes Gund, illegal psychedelic medicines, and more. Fans of the Laemmle Anniversary Classics may want to note the one-day-only virtual event Cinema '62 A-Go-Go, hosted by Stephen Farber and Michael McClellan this Saturday. Also check out the indie drama Senior Love Triangle, the dry comedy The Planters, and the Vietnamese Opera film Song Lang. In addition to the new release above, Laemmle Theatres will re-introducing a number of popular titles that opened virtually over the past few months. Returning favorites include bio-docs on Jimmy Carter, Ellis B. Haizlip, and Oliver Sacks, as well as dramas The Artist's Wife and The Keeper. And as always, know that every purchase you make helps support Laemmle Theatres while they eagerly seek allowance to reopen.
Cyber-NY developed the Laemmle Theatre Virtual Cinema on our Logic Cloud Platform making this another recent virtual cinema offering launched this year. Others include Kino Maquee, Kino Now, the Brooklyn SciFi Film Festival, and several video on demand (VOD) services currently in development this year.
