The Brooklyn SciFi Film Festival is kicking off its fourth season this year, and is pleased to announce that 135 films have been selected for screening at this year's festival.
Running from October 9th through October 15th, SciFi fans from around the world are welcomed to join this one-of-a-kind event, as all films will be made available online for streaming and rating through Brooklyn SciFi's Netflix-style festival platform built on Cyber-NY's Logic CMX streaming platform.
This year’s best includes films from independent filmmakers representing 26 countries, including first-time filmmakers and industry veterans alike. Categories include: Live Action Short Films, Animation, Comedy SciFi, SciFi Documentary, Feature Films, Student Films and Young Filmmakers. The complete listing of selected films is available online at the BrooklynSciFiFilmFest.com website.
With special events each night, as well as watch parties, voting, and discussion panels, there is something for everyone! Back by popular demand, is the 4th season of our curated film series, The Sixth Borough, featuring three outrageous dystopian SciFi tales in each episode. Think of it as the Black Mirror or Twilight Zone of independent SciFi!
For those who wish to have in-person connections with other SciFi lovers and aficionados, this year Brooklyn SciFi will host an in-theater event and after party at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Brooklyn on Saturday October 14th, where we will feature a program of specially curated short films and announce this year’s winners in each category.
Tickets are available at Eventbrite or from the Brooklyn SciFi website. We welcome the press to join us at this year's festival to celebrate the independent SciFi film genre! Please visit our press page for credentials and details or contact us at info@brooklynscififilmfest.com.
